Course Descriptions
Employment Law 101
The most common employment law problems faced by today’s medical practice administrators will be addressed. Topics will include employment at will, discrimination and harassment and managing the workplace.
Discipline & Discharge
This session will describe an effective plan for handling chronically unsatisfactory and/or conduct-challenged employees, as well as addressing how to manage the supervisor who seems to be lacking the energy to timely and effectively handle the problems. Charting techniques documenting progressive discipline will be featured.
Wage & Hour
We will conclude with an examination of the major causes of wage and hour issues. Common causes of workplace distresses will be identified, e.g., unrecognized and uncaptured hours worked, employee manipulation of working time and overtime. Effective tools on how to handle these situations will be discussed.
CEU Credits
This program has been approved by the American College of Medical Practitioner Executives (ACMPE) for three CEUs.
