Don't miss the upcoming 'Passport to Paradise' fall conference

The Virginia Medical Group Management Association’s 2008 Fall Conference is right around the corner! Join us for an exciting event to close the summer at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel on Sept. 14-16.

We will be offering the ACMPE Knowledge Assessment to conference attendees. The practice objective exam can help participants evaluate their knowledge of the performance domains that are included in the ACMPE exam, so take advantage of this opportunity!

Our keynote speakers for the conference will be:

  • Wayne Sotile of Realtalk, who will inspire us to “Let Go of What’s Holding Us Back.” We will learn how to celebrate what's good in our work, our relationships, our family and ourselves! On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy are you? Wayne and Mary Sotile have addressed that simple question for thousands of people in their work as clinical psychologists and motivational speakers. And they've found that most people — regardless of race, culture or class — rate themselves a 7, "mildly happy." What's wrong with being average? Well, every 7 longs to be a 10. For more information, see www.sotile.com.
  • The law firm of Kaufman & Canoles will bring two speakers to our second day. In the first session, Laura Gross will give us tools on “How to Handle an EEOC Claim,” and Bob Barry will discuss the “Crossroads of ADA, FMLA and Cobra” in the second session.

Our breakout sessions will be on “Employment Law,” “Employee Performance Appraisals,” “Federal/State Legislative Updates” and the “Five Steps to a Team that Doesn’t Cat Fight.” We have heard your requests for discussions concerning day-to-day business operations, and we think you will find these sessions fulfill that goal.

We look forward to seeing you at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel for this outstanding educational event. Check out the program schedule and register online at www.vmgma.org.
